 Development process of human light

The history of human lighting develops with the change of energy

Since the Anthropological Society drilled wood and fire, lighting has changed from fire and oil to electricity. Lighting tools have undergone countless changes, from flashlights, animal oils, vegetable oils, candles, kerosene lamps, incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps, to a variety of decorative lamps and energy-saving lamps today.

1. Firewood era

People use firewood as the main light source of lighting, which is called ancient lighting; ancient people used oil burning and candle lighting to obtain lights, and even used fireflies that can glow at night as light sources.

2. Coal era and oil era

People use fossil fuel gas and kerosene as the main light source of lighting, called modern lighting.

3. Electrical energy era

The second revolution in human lighting tools stems from the advent of electricity. The emergence of electricity has made a leap in human productivity. The electric lamp invented therewith opened up the history of human lighting with electricity. People illuminate with electric light source, which is called modern lighting.

4. LED era

The third revolution in human lighting tools is the development of LED lights. The development of LED began in 1907: British scientist Henry Joseph Round observed the electroluminescence phenomenon for the first time in a piece of silicon carbide. In 1962, American General Electric Company (GE) Nick Holonyak invented the LED that can emit red light, and in 1972 George Craford invented the first orange-yellow LED; In 1993, the first blue LED lamp appeared; by 1999, the first white LED lamp appeared. Eventually, a lamp close to natural light was developed in the field of LED research and development, and began to be used for indoor lighting. With the continuous advancement of science and technology and the continuous improvement of living standards, people's pursuit of material living standards is also constantly improving.
